On Thursday, July 17th, Art on the Square Gallery officially opened its doors—and Summerville showed up in full force to celebrate! Friends, collectors, neighbors, and curious passersby filled the space with energy, excitement, and a shared appreciation for local creativity.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Summerville’s historic district, our gallery is now home to 29 incredible local artists. From fine oil landscapes and vibrant abstract acrylics to whimsical illustrations, fiber art, and handcrafted goods, our walls and shelves reflect the diverse artistic voice of the Lowcountry.

But this space is more than just a gallery—it’s a gathering place. A community hub. A place where creativity, connection, and inspiration meet.

Several of our artists are now offering art classes in a variety of mediums, giving visitors the chance to try something new, refine their skills, or simply play with paint and possibility. Whether you're a seasoned artist or someone who hasn’t held a paintbrush since childhood, there's a place for you here.
