From a creative child in Tennessee to an oil painter in Charleston.
Arriving in Charleston in the spring of 1968, I was captured by the delightful views of twisted wisteria,to the spring symphony of colors in the local azaleas. I picked up my brushes and paints and began to create Charleston scenes. I wanted these scenes to be full of color and light.
Over the years people have come to see my art as happy. The colors and light have created a style that have become my trademark and have nick named me the happy artist. It is a nickname that I embrace knowing that exploring the world of art can take the viewer to their own happy place.
