A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Mary’s love of art began in early childhood. As her interest in fine art continued to advance, she had the opportunity to study under Gino Manelli from Rome, Italy, while majoring in fine art during her college years.
She relocated to Naples, Florida in 1993 finding the vibrant seaside residence enhancing her creativity and love of color. Her art career bloomed and led to her being associated with several local galleries, also attending workshops and studying with nationally known artists. Mary exhibited in countless juried art ventures and her paintings can be found in many private collections. As a lifetime member of the Naples Art Association, she maintains close ties to the Naples art scene.
Mary enjoys using a variety of media, however her passion continues to express itself in abstract medium. This allows her the freedom of expression, color and texture. As she works the painting will sometimes take on a life of its own. She enjoys watching the process unfold to reveal her individual style. In 2018, Mary re-located to Charleston, S.C. (Summerville) to continue her art career while enjoying being closer to her adult children.
