ART on the Square Gallery

Associate Artist

Mary Mariner

Mary Mariner says, “My first experience in painting was in high school. However, I was always sketching when I was a child. I was so enthralled with the oils that I was always late for the next class.” Mary went on to study art in college and continued her art studies under master painter Gino Manelli. She took workshops from Wolf Kahn, Ed Betts, Charles Movalli, Carol Barnes and Maxine Masterfield. She developed her own style and went on to have an illustrious art career in Naples, Florida where she was a lifetime member of the Naples Art Association. Mary is now well versed in all mediums. She especially enjoys abstracts. Mary recently moved to the Summerville, SC area where she continues her lifelong pursuit of art. Mary says, “My art is a reflection of the passion and curiosity that I have for life. Color and texture comprise the language I use to express this passion. I continually explore new tools and ways of achieving a dance of harmony and accent. The possibilities are endless……like a dream that never ends.”
