Born in Charleston, SC, I have lived in the Lowcountry my entire life. I studied art in high school and college and especially enjoyed watercolors, but decided instead on a nursing career over the past 34 years. Over the last decade, I have studied with numerous local and international artists to learn more about the different medium’s art can provide. In 2007, I started my second career as an artist full time. Latest works include watercolor, alcohol ink on various non-porous substrates, palette knife painting, and pastels. My work shows my love of color with some realism and impressionism mixed together. I love painting landscapes, flora, and some portraits. I am inspired by many different things, but most of my paintings were born from my love of nature and the beauty of our Lowcountry.
I have been very fortunate to have received numerous awards for my paintings here locally. My work is in many personal collections nationally and internationally as well. I am member of the Charleston Artist Guild and the Summerville Artist Guild.
