My artwork reflects the personal connection I feel to the Lowcountry. Many of my paintings depict representations of some of my favorite places in the Charleston area. I spent almost my entire life unaware of my ability to take what I see and transform it into a piece of artwork.
I began filling my time by trying my hand in acrylics. This let to working with oils and finally alcohol inks. Through experimentation, I developed my own style in each medium. I really enjoy the process of creative discovery, especially with alcohol inks.
As I continue my art journey, I plan to continue to spend time teaching art. I recently became involved with instructing middle school students with profound special needs. The work I do to bring happiness to others, whether youngsters or Alzheimer’s patients, fill me with a sense of completeness and joy.
