Born in Charleston, South Carolina,  Allan lived in Summerville, SC for elementary school, Denmark, SC for junior high, and while living on Isle of Palms attended Moultrie High in Mt Pleasant. There he studied under the art teacher, Virginia Bolton, “Fouché “, a well know water colorist throughout the area.

After a stint in the Navy, art at USC, and Architectural Technology at Midlands Tech, he spent 25 years working for Bank of America and predecessors building, remodeling, and managing bank buildings.

After that he has concentrated on his love of art. Using mainly  acrylics on canvas he has tried to capture the beauty around him. Seascapes, boats and ships, and in a few years in Sedona, AZ played with rock sculpture.

Allan says, “I have enjoyed working and playing in the art world and feel privileged to be able to bring what I see onto canvas and structures.”
